Cursed Aftermath

No one ever talks about what happens after a curse is broken…

 

Moving back to the area surrounding Dekorth City is the last thing Marek Isamat wants. After all, his Curse used his mind control power to bring chaos and suffering to some of the city’s residents five years ago and people aren’t quick to forget something like that. But he doesn’t really have a choice, not when his older sister is offered her dream job there.

Being back in the city isn’t easy, though. Between trying to hide his identity from those who might seek revenge for what happened in the past and adjusting to college and work, Marek has his work cut out for him. Even without the Curse randomly taking control, even with his power blocked, trouble still lurks around every corner. And two Curse Breakers pay the Isamat family a visit to warn of a potential new threat.

If that wasn’t concerning enough, a series of seemingly random accidents start plaguing the same group of friends that Marek’s curse targeted all those years ago, he’s immediately blamed. And when two women go missing under suspicious circumstances, Marek can’t help but wonder if they’re connected to the Curse Breakers’ warning. 

 

But what can he do about it? Marek’s power was never meant to help people, only to bring suffering. Is there even a way to use mind control to figure out what happened and clear his name when it brought suspicion in the first place?
